Multi-talented South Sudanese singer Ajak Kwai came to Australia as a refugee fleeing the brutal and interminable civil war in her homeland. Here, Ajak shares her story, her love of music and insights into her culture. As a Dinka woman, Ajak has used singing, music and storytelling to help maintain her connection to her people and their cultural traditions.

Ajak Kwai is a musician, community worker and refugee. She fled the civil war in her native Sudan and arrived in Australia in 1998. Since that time she has established a new life and is active in the local community. She sings about peace, unity and forgiveness in her music.
